[guide-user] Is there any chance someone will pick up the guide 9 update?

Hello friends,
I am also a long-term Guide user.I would be willing to help with maintaining Guide9. Sadly, only "Help with", not do it alone.
But it all boils down to Bill to provide the source code and ideally mentor such a project initially.
There are several possible ways go about this (complete open source, closed source with free downloads, or even a commercial software).I am sure any move that Bill would make to keep Guide alive would be highly appreciated...
Best regards, Martin

All,
I agree with all of you.
I know, Bill does not like to hear all this (but probably he does :-)), but I have to say I have repeatedly tried -
especially since I switched to Linux more than five years ago - to find another program that allows me to plan my visual
comet observing sessions, including finder charts and inclusion of custom comparison star catalogues but also to support
my quest in identification and linking of historic comets. No other package came close in convenience of use and
accuracy. This does not mean that other packages are bad but they all seem to be aimed at a different audience - at
least it is my impression and maybe I'm too used of Guide. I wouldn't be where I am without Guide and FindOrb.
So, guess how happy I am that it runs under Linux/Wine!
If there would be an upgrade in terms of UI and more QOL features and what else... I would be even willing to pay something.
So, while I don't think Bill would touch it again, it seems it depends on other capable persons to take over such an
project.
Regards
Maik
