Sadly, only "Help with", not do it alone.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">But it all boils down to Bill to provide the source code and ideally mentor such a project initially.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">There are several possible ways go about this (complete open source, closed source with free downloads, or even a commercial software).</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">I am sure any move that Bill would make to keep Guide alive would be highly appreciated...</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Best regards, Martin</div><div><br></div>

<div><div dir="ltr">All,<br clear="none"><br clear="none">I agree with all of you.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">I know, Bill does not like to hear all this (but probably he does :-)), but I have to say I have repeatedly tried - <br clear="none">especially since I switched to Linux more than five years ago - to find another program that allows me to plan my visual <br clear="none">comet observing sessions, including finder charts and inclusion of custom comparison star catalogues but also to support <br clear="none">my quest in identification and linking of historic comets. No other package came close in convenience of use and <br clear="none">accuracy. This does not mean that other packages are bad but they all seem to be aimed at a different audience - at <br clear="none">least it is my impression and maybe I'm too used of Guide. I wouldn't be where I am without Guide and FindOrb.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">So, guess how happy I am that it runs under Linux/Wine!<br clear="none"><br clear="none">If there would be an upgrade in terms of UI and more QOL features and what else...
