"Pseudo-MPEC" for WMAP

WMAP is at the L2 point, in unstable equilibrium; it has to maneuver from time to time to stay at the L2 point. The ephemeris given below ignores that fact, and assumes that WMAP isn't maneuvering. If projected into the future, it would have WMAP "falling away" from the L2 point and going into heliocentric orbit. In reality, a station-keeping maneuver ought to keep WMAP at L2 for a while longer... until yet another maneuver is required. Maneuvers are avoided where possible; every maneuver uses fuel and is another opportunity for something Really Bad to happen, resulting in loss of WMAP. But you can't evade them forever.
This is also the reason why the earlier observations don't fit the rest of the orbit.
This site gives some discussion of the issues involved, and states that "...station-keeping maneuvers are required about 4 times per year to maintain the orbit." Note that right now, we've got data from October 2007 to March 2008, indicating that it's been a long time since the last maneuver.
