"Pseudo-MPEC" for 2010-050B = RV223A9 = Chang'e 2 booster

TLEs (Two-Line Elements) are available for this object, and for most other high-altitude artsats listed on these pages. Be warned that for this particular object, the TLEs may not be readable in all software.
Earlier this year, it seemed quite possible that this object would have a final perigee on 2020 July 19, then escape into an heliocentric orbit. However, we got some astrometry just before that perigee (not much; the viewing geometry was unfavorable), which got an orbit with at least one more perigee, sometime in the neighborhood of 2020 Nov 1. Between then, it would be at very low elongations, hanging out around the earth-sun L1 point, such that any uncertainty in its motion would be magnified by the time we could see it.
I considered suggesting it as a target for follow-up in early November. It's a good thing I didn't; I'd have been wasting observing time. The object was recovered by CSS on 10 November, 5.3 degrees off prediction, considerably more than I'd expected, and appeared briefly on NEOCP as C1HRKM1. (I had set a search distance of six degrees, and didn't really expect it to be more than a degree off prediction. But artsats do "misbehave". Or perhaps more accurately, move in ways that the motion model would not predict.)
With the newly-linked orbit, I've updated the TLEs and computed the pseudo-MPEC shown below. We should have no short-term trouble in tracking this object. It doesn't look as if it will hit anything or escape in the next few months, or probably the next year.
