[guide-user] Software overriding my Horizon.DAT file

Got clumsy last night in the cold and dark and dropped something on the top
of the keyboard around the function keys area. Guide 9 was running and my
horizon disappeared to be replaced with magnetic bearings around the
perimeter of the sky FOV. Discovered that somehow a file named horiz04.dat
has popped up in the guide directory and is now overriding the normal
horizon.dat file. Lots of trees and obstructions and that horizon is
important.
Deleting the new horiz04.dat file doesn't fix things as when I restart Guide
the NSEW bearing appears again, and it's reappeared in the program file as
well. Turning off Guide, deleting the horiz04.dat file and then rebooting
the computer didn't solve the problem either. This is really queer. Anyone
got an idea as to what is causing this and as to how to correct it so that I
may see my obstructions again?
